Ralph Lauren Polo Shirt -Support for the Breast Cancer

Bookmark and Share

Ralph Lauren and Fashion Targets Breast Cancer have teamed up to create an exclusive, limited edition polo shirt with the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer logo. The campaign is being promoted by the CFDA and asks women to wear a polo shirt designed by Ralph Lauren on Fridays July 3, 2009 during the summer to help raise awareness of breast cancer and to promote donations to research to find a cure. Gisele Bündchen, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Shalom Harlow, and Eva Herzigova have all been wearing FTBC shirts to support the fight against breast cancer since the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) launched the FTBC initiative in 1994.

"It is a powerful opportunity for women across America to join together in a unified message of care, concern and hope," said CFDA executive director Steven Kolb. "The FTBC polo makes a perfect summer Friday outfit, and can take women from work to their favorite weekend getaway spot."

Ralph Lauren has a history of fighting against cancer and supporting the charity, their Pink Pony Fund is a great example of how they do this and now the fashion council of America has got involved.

According to Diane von Furstenberg, president of the CFDA, “Nina Hyde, who was a very important fashion journalist from The Washington Post, got breast cancer, and it was really early on and unfortunately, she passed away. She was very close to Ralph Lauren, and Ralph Lauren really wanted to do something.”

By purchasing a polo ralph lauren shirt you are supporting Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.
